CCToMM M3 Symposium

Call for Papers

The 2025 CCToMM Symposium on Mechanisms, Machines, and Mechatronics (M3 Symposium) will be held on June 19 and 20, at the University of Ottawa.

The CCToMM M3 Symposium sessions will potentially include: mechanisms, robotics, mechatronics, space robotics, medical robotics, mobile robotics, robotic tooling, dynamics of machines, gearing and transmissions, applied vibrations/acoustics, sensors and actuators, machining and metrology, control of mechanical systems. Propositions for workshops or tutorials are also accepted.

Full papers can be submitted to the Symposium Platform as per the Author Guidelines section. The proceedings of the CCToMM M3 Symposium will be published in the Machines and Mechanisms book series by Springer Nature .

The 2025 CCToMM Annual General Meeting will also be held during the Symposium.

Author Guidelines

Full papers should be submitted online through the Symposium Platform as unsecured PDF files using the CCToMM template. Full papers should be submitted as single-column unsecured PDF files. Papers up to 12 pages should be formatted using the either of the following CCToMM class files:

All communications with the corresponding authors of each paper will be conducted by email or through the Symposium Platform. Each corresponding author submitting a full paper will be requested to produce two reviews per paper submitted and at least one author is expected to register and present the paper at the symposium.

Best paper and presentation awards

The CCToMM will bestow two awards during the M3 Symposium: the Jorge Angeles Best Student Paper Award and the Ron Podhorodeski Best Student Presentation Award. Student first authors must self identify in the “Affiliation” section of the submission portal to be considered for the best student paper award. All presentations delivered by a student co-author at the M3 Symposium will be considered for the best student presentation award. The full guidelines for the awards are available here.

Student Delegates Awards

The CCToMM supports the dissemination of student-lead research by providing financial assistance to assist the M3 Symposium in the form of a Student Delegates Award (SDA). Eligible students are encouraged to complete the SDA Application Form.
